Golden Slope (pol Złoty Stok) - small town in silesia at the foot of the Golden Mountains. It was the mining settlement from the Middle Ages (created probable before X century).

In Golden Slope in 1550, there were 190 gold mines! and several small ironworks. The amount of mined ore was over 30 000t per year. From such amount of ore, 60-140kg of gold could be produced. It was 8% of whole gold production in Europe then.

In PRL times (communism) Golden Slope town was in deep regresion. Many mines were closed. Even only one in Poland arsenic mine had to be abandon. The last one public railway line was also closed.

Nowadays, Golden city has only a tourists functions. There are many monuments and museums such as Golden Minning Museum where people can see how the ore was mined. In this museum there is also the biggest underground waterfall in Europe. Lot of pictures from the museum can be found here.
