"Sexmission"  movie from 1981- was the only Polish film in those days which gain popularity abroad. Movie action starts in 1991, when two volunteers hibernate for 3 years. However, they are awaken a little bit later in.. 2044. The worst is not that, they sleep all their life, but this, that in meantime was a nuclear war on Earth. As a result of nuclear holocaust or male genes died and all man have gone from the planet. They are two last of their kind. Two "time travellers' not only have to restore proper order to the world, but also save theyr own masculinity, because woman want to convert them to transvestites. Althoug the film drama seems to be like in bad porn movie, the "Sexmission" is a comedy, very popular even nowadays.

During the German occupation in Poland in 1939-1945, Nazis authorities banned the breeding of pigeons. They feared that pigeons would be able to bypass German armies and deliver messages from other countries to Poland or messages from resistance. But the most, Nazis were feared that the world would get know what happens in Poland.

During II World War Hitler built bunker complex in Polish land - Mazury (near Gierłoż village). Those bunker were Hitler and Luftwaffe main hedquaters. Hitler spent here overall 800 days during 3.5 year period.

The complex was placed on 250ha forest area. Bunkers were surrounded by mine fields and fence with wooden watching towers and concrete machine guns spots.

 

In here was an unsuccesfull assasination attempt on Hitler's life. On July 20 Claus von Stauffenberg caried a bomb hidden in briefcase into the meeting room where was also Hitler. Bomb exploded devastating room interior but unfortunatelly Hitler survived with only light injures. This whole operation was presented in latest film with Tom Cruise "Valkyria".
