Not many people knows, that not only police was hunting Al Capone. One of his worst enemy was Earl Wojciechowski  (Hymie Weiss) - another gang boss from the time of Prohibition. He was the one who dare to challenge Capone's and Torino's gang.

Earl Wojciechowski was Polish emigrant, which spent his childhood in Irish district of Chicago. It was there, that he met Dion O'Banion and together, they were involved in burglary, theft and numerous robberies. They created gang called "North Sliders". In Prohibition times, they cooperated with AlCapone and John Torrio group, but after 1921, both gangs become rivals.

CIA director in talk with president Regan said about "HIM": "Nobody, in the last 40 years did not harmed communism so much like this Pole". However after 16 year on emigration, when Kukliński returned to Poland, Polish society had split opinions on his actions. He was and still is considered as a hero and a traitor.

Thanks to action movies everybody knows what it is and how bulletproof vest looks. But not everyone knows, that it has be developed by two Poles: Jan Szczepanik and Kazimierz Zeglen. Their invention gained popularity in 1902, when it saved from death king of Spain Alfonso XIII during the attempt on his life.
