PDF

Polish borders when Poland was EmpirePoland was once empire. From 1619 till 1667 Polish territory was about 1million of square kilometers. It was the biggest country in Europe! However Poland was also entirely erased from the maps. It was in 1795 - 1918. Yes, just before the First World War Poland existed only in memmories and hearts of Poles. This lasted more than 100 years! It is extraordinary, that Polish nation, after such long non-existence, managed to force 'Europe' to recreate Poland once again. Sorry, I was wrong. It seems to be 1874 when Poland disappeared: see http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Królestwo Kongresowe. See http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Królestwo Polskie(1916-1918) for 1916, although I understand why you might want to deny the reality of this.

No, I ment exactly 1975 (The last, third Polish Partition) and the 1918. Poland wasn't on the maps for 123 years!

Don't you mean Poland ceased to exist from 1831 to 1916?
